Golf is among the world’s most known and celebrated sport. Surprisingly, Golf has fewer number of players than you’d think around the world… Popular culture has it that golf is an elitist sport; a sport that requires a lot of money for one to enjoy.

You can’t argue the point, since golf did in fact start as an elitist sport when it was popularized in Scotland and England. The early golf variation differs slightly from the form played today with the main differences being around the rules…

As technology improved the distance of players’ golf shots, it has made certain rules outdates and perhaps inappropriate hence they have been modified constantly. Even to this day, you have rule changes due to new golf club and ball technology… and Tiger Woods.
